Different Types of Fish to Keep in an Aquarium
You will enjoy having fish for pets, but only if you know how to care for them. Aquariums form a beautiful section of a house. But the work involved in keeping an aquarium can put off so many people. If you manage to keep them healthy and hygienic, they shall reward you with their beauty and sparkle. This calls for you pick only fish that is easy to care for. Danios are small, active and colorful fish. You will find these as red, yellow and green. They are lively but hardly aggressive and live well with other species. They prefer a large aquarium with gravel and plants at the bottom, with pH levels close to that of fresh water.
Black Molly has no preference for the water conditions. They are thus easier to care for. They are normally platinum colored, dusty gold or black. They eat mostly flake and pellet foods, bloodworms, and brine shrimp. They can live with other fish as long as they are not larger.
Platies shall be in more color, such as in blue, purple, red-orange, and yellow. They can also be bred for more color options. They are passive, and don’t mind living with other passive fish are. The male species are normally smaller than the female ones. They do well in warmer water and eat flake food, freeze-dried food, and algae.
Betta fish come in shapes like half-moon, double-tail and crown tail. They like warmer water that is rinsed off often.
Neon Tetra come with silver or white abdomens with bright blue backs. They have no problem living with other species.
Guppies are the most playful of them all, and love to breed. You shall soon have lots of guppies in your aquarium. Their females grow much bigger, almost twice the males. The males, on the other hand, are the more colorful species.
You shall tell a Rainbow fish by the way there are colored. They shall then grow more colorful when they settle in their new aquarium. They are not aggressive or that much active.
Glofish are similar to Danios, except for their neon shine. They are also passive fish.
